Vehicle insurance does not come cheap in Minnesota nor in any state you are in. Truth of the matter is prices would generally be the same wherever you are, and often, they are expensive. The best way to pull down your expenses and to get that cheapest vehicle insurance is by using discounts. Often, vehicle insurance companies offer discounts to their customers. You just have to know which is available and applicable for you.
Since you said you are old, I assume you are a senior citizen, so that already gives you one discount: the senior citizen discount. As stated by the Department of Motor Vehicles, senior citizens have the privilege to get a 10% discount on their vehicle insurance policies. This discount is already a big help if you think about it.
If you have retired from the military or are still active with the military, then vehicle insurance companies can also give discounts ranging from 2% to 15%. You have to check this one with an insurance agent because the rate varies per vehicle insurance company.
Being safe also gives you a discount. If you have antilock brakes, airbags or any safety feature in your car, these can help lower your vehicle insurance premium.
Do not worry about paying for expensive vehicle insurance because there are ways of lowering down the price to a point where it wouldn’t look and feel so expensive. Just ask your vehicle insurance company on what discounts may be available for you.
